Meet Chrissy
Chrissy Durham, LPCC-S, LICDC, ERPSCC, NCC, is a dual-diagnosis counselor who specializes in serving first responders, veterans, military-connected individuals, and their families. Her professional focus is informed by extensive personal connection to these communities. She is the spouse of a career first responder with 30 years of service across career, volunteer, and wildland firefighting, emergency medical response, law enforcement, fire instruction, and fire leadership. She is also the daughter of a Vietnam-era veteran, granddaughter of a World War II bomber pilot, and mother of a current U.S. Army soldier. Chrissy considers it a privilege to support the individuals and families within these communities.
Chrissy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Waldorf University, a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University, and a post-master’s certificate in Addiction Counseling. She has completed extensive advanced training and consultation in the three primary evidence-based therapies for PTSD and has specialized training in the treatment of adult ADHD and other mental health conditions. She also holds the Emergency Responder and Public Safety Certified Clinician credential through Lexipol and is a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors. In addition, she has been vetted and approved by several veteran and first responder organizations, including the National FOP, IAFF, ResponderStrong, First Responder Support Network, National Volunteer Fire Council, and Star Behavioral Health Providers.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Chrissy values time with her husband, their four children, her faith, and their two German Shepherds. Her personal interests include spending time outdoors—particularly in the Smoky Mountains—taking Jeep drives, repurposing furniture, and enjoys tattoos, music and reading.
